3D printing in concrete/clay/plaster
Presentation
material
In collaboration with several French start-ups, Biobject has developed pieces of furniture and accessories using the unique technique of 3D concrete printing. Originally used in construction or urban furniture, this technique allows for the creation of spectacular free-form shapes in 3D concrete. Based on a program developed internally by our partners, your project is launched by a robot whose print head pours concrete in multiple layers to develop your product. The concretes used in this process have unique characteristics that allow for sufficiently fast air-drying to solidify the shape during the printing phase. Extremely strong, the concrete can be used outdoors as well as indoors: reception stands, benches, meeting tables, basins, lighting fixtures, etc. Pigmentation allows for the offering of several colors. Aesthetically, the level of deformation of the object and the weaving patterns can be configured within the program. New methods are under development to print with a clay or plaster base.
